Submissions Guidelines for CJLPHR and Blog
We invite graduate students, researchers, and practitioners to contribute to the Journal and Blog. This page outlines the essential submission guidelines, including word limits, citation style, and thematic focus, to help you prepare your submission for consideration.
How to submit articles?
To submit journal, opinion or blog articles to CJLPHR, please email the editor at editor@cjlphr.org with the required documents as per the guidelines below:
Journal articles
1. Your anonymous manuscript (with all traces of your name removed) to facilitate anonymous peer review. The manuscript should include:
- The title of the manuscript
- An abstract (max length: 250 words) on a separate page
- The main body
- Bibliography, in alphabetical order
- Figure-caption list and tables
2. A separate title page that includes:
- The title of the manuscript, keywords (max 4) and the name of author(s), and degrees
- Authors' affiliation: academic department, institution, or organisation
- The corresponding author's telephone number and e-mail address
3. A separate cover letter that includes:
- A brief statement certifying the manuscript contains original work, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere, including any declarations of conflicts of interest.
4. Length
- Submissions must be no more than 8000 words, including references, and in compliance with OSCOLA referencing style. The word count includes bibliographies and footnotes. The articles should be written in scholarly yet engaging language and tone.
5. Titles:
- The titles should convey the content accurately. The blog article title should be no more than 200 characters.
6. Acceptable format:
- CJLPHR will accept docs, docx (no pdfs).
7. Referencing
- OSCOLA referencing style.
Opinion Pieces:
- Opinion pieces should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words, inclusive of footnotes.

Opinion pieces should offer original, insightful, and well-reasoned arguments on topics related to law, politics, or human rights, with relevance to Cameroon or broader African and international contexts.

Submissions should be analytical, evidence-based, and engage with current debates or emerging issues in the field.

Pieces must be written in clear, concise, and accessible academic prose, avoiding overly technical jargon.

Include a title page with the article title, author’s name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), and contact email.

Provide an abstract of 150–200 words summarizing the main argument and key points.

Number all pages consecutively.
Blog Posts
- The manuscript should include:
- The title of the manuscript
- An abstract (max length, 250 words) on a separate page
- The main body
- Bibliography, in alphabetical order
2. A separate title page that contains:
- The title of the blog article and name of the author(s)
- Author's biography, ranging from 50 to 100 words, should be provided.
3. Length
- The completed blog article should be approximately 1500 words long.
4. Titles
The title should be approximately 50-60 characters. It should be concise and convey the content accurately.
5. Images
- Images provided for the featured image on the blog should be relevant, high-resolution, provide caption, free from copyright issues or have permission to use.
6. Acceptable format:
- We will accept docs, docx (no pdfs); use hyperlinks to direct readers to sources; embed links within text naturally (rather than use 'click here')
7. Referencing
- We recommend using the OSCOLA referencing style. Please use embedded hyperlinks for reader accessibility. Blog contributions should be written in scholarly yet engaging language and tone.
Publication Author Agreement
Following acceptance for publication, authors must sign an author agreement to grant CJLPHR appropriate rights to publish the article. Authors retain all copyrights to the article.
Article Processing Charges
The standard Article Processing Charge (APC) for all accepted articles is 25,000 FCFA or $45 (USD). This fee covers peer review, professional editing and typesetting, immediate open access publication, indexing in major databases, and long-term digital archiving.
Privacy Statement
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
